FIL A GANT THREAD

Fil a gant which means ‘gloving thread’ in French is used for couture beading, applique, millinery and traditionally glove making as its fine and strong. The cotton is mercerised and taken through a wax bath. It is made the same way as it was back in the 1800’s in France. Beautiful to work with, the brand have kept the original packaging of a Chinese man on the label. Asian culture was seen as very exotic in that period and it gives reference to the silk road.
